The hunger strike of Mr. Khaled Hardani and Mansour Radpour is on its 8th day. Mr. Radpour was taken to an unknown location on the second day of his hunger strike and there has been no news about his whereabouts, health or well being in the past 6 days.

Mr. Hardani's health has suffered significantly due to his hunger strike and is suffering from heart problems as well as internal stomach and intestine infection. Although the prison doctor Dr. Andali has indicated that Mr. Hardani needs to be treated in a hospital outside of the Prison he has not been allowed to seek the medical attention he requires.

Further the Prison Officials have not acknowladged the hunger strike or tried to meet the requests of these two political prisoners. The main requests of Mr. Hardani and Radpour are the seperation of political prisoners from non political prisoners, stop of mass executions, visitation of Gohardasht Prison by an independent committee and an investigation into the treatment of political prisoners in Gohardasht Prison.

In a telephone conversation today Mr. Hardani stated that he would not stop his hunger strike until his requests were met. He is also extremely concerned about the well being of Mr. Mansour Radpour who has been missing for the past 6 days.

The Voice of Human Rights in Iran is extremely concerned about the health and well being of both Mr. Hardani and Mr. Radpour. We strongly and urge all human rights organizations to act immediately and before it is too late to help bring attention to the situation of Mr. Hardani and Mr. Radpour.
