LONDON, March 29 — Britain said today it would seek United Nations backing against Iran in the dispute over its captured sailors, apparently brushing aside a threat from the Iranian government to delay the release of the only woman among the British prisoners.

Referring to an earlier promise to free Faye Turney, a 26-year-old mother of one, Ali Larijani, the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, warned Britain that “if we are faced with a fuss and wrong behavior then this would be suspended and it would not take place.”
